Patta land of 301 acres was purchased for airport expansion

So far, the revenue department has acquired 301 acres of patta land at a cost of 1,229 crore for the city airport's renovation.Officials are planning to purchase the remaining 161 acres of patta land in four months.Once the acquisition of land is complete, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) will take over the property and begin work on the project.The district administration was required to acquire 627.89 acres of land, 134.2 acres of defence land, 31.69 acres of non-cultivable land (poramboke) and 462 acres of patta land.

For residential property, the price was set at 1,500 per square foot and for agricultural land at 900 per square foot.We have leased 301 acres of patta property in Kalapatti, Irugur, Singanallur, Neelambur, and Uppilipalayam villages so far and have paid the landowners 1,229 crore.The remaining 161 acres of patta land required for the project will cost 830 crores.The state government will pay the total cost of 2,059 crore, according to a source.

The landowners' names will be verified by having details.The verification process has taken a long time.We are also planning to wind it up in four months.The Airport Authority of India decided to expand the airport more than a decade ago and has been waiting for the district administration to provide the required land.The proposed project would include the lengthening of the runway to 12,500 feet from 9,500 feet, as well as the construction of a new terminal near the L&T Bypass Road.
