Persecuted minorities in Pakistan are given the opportunity to practise medicine in India.

National Medical Commission (NMC) has opened the door to persecuted minorities from Pakistan . Applicants must have obtained valid medical qualification and have practised medicine in Pakistan prior to his departure .

New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has opened the door to persecuted minorities from Pakistan who left the country and entered India on or before December 31, 2014, to practice medicine here.The NMC's Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UMEB), released on Friday, has invited applications from such people who have obtained Indian citizenship to apply for permanent registration by the commission or an agency licensed by it.The applicants must have obtained valid medical qualification and have practised medicine in Pakistan prior to his departure According to the NMC publication on June 20, applicants were advised to strictly adhere to the instructions for completing the online application via a link on the NMC website.Offline applications will not be considered by the commission.The commission may choose to recognize shortlisted candidates as candidates for permanent residency in India, according to the publication.
