Pooja Sihag of India progresses to the semifinals of the women's 76 kg competition at CWG 2022, and Vinesh Phogat keeps winning

Pooja Sihag, Pooja Gehlot and Vinesh Phogat both win in the womens freestyle freestyle freestyle 76 kg category . Ravi Dahiya and Deepak Nehra also in action at the forthcoming Commonwealth Games .

Birmingham, United Kingdom, August 6 : Pooja Sihag, an Indian wrestler, advanced to the semifinals of the women's freestyle 76 kg division on Saturday after defeating New Zealand's Michelle Montague in the quarterfinals at the forthcoming Commonwealth Games.On the basis of points scored over the opponent, she won the match by 5-3.The New Zealander put up a good fight, but it wasn't enough to make any strides.In the semifinals, Sihag will be playing soon.

In her Nordic round match, she defeated Mercy Bolafunoluwa Adekuoroye of Nigeria 6-0.She won on the basis of points she scored over her opponent.Vinesh Phogat made a winning start to her Commonwealth Games 2022 campaign earlier today by defeating Canadas Samantha Stewart in her women's freestyle 53 kg category-Nordic round.The match lasted for just 36 seconds.

Stewart couldn't even grasp a minute of in-mat time as she was quickly slashed by an Indian.Pooja Gehlot, a third Indian wrestler, got off to a great start with her CWG 2022 campaign.Rebecca Ndolo Muambo of Cameroon won the first match of her nordic round by forfeit.She did not even have to step inside the mat when her opponent ended the match.Gehlot then went on to win her second match against Scotland's Christelle Lemofack Letchidjio.

In this competition, Gehlot was notably dominant, winning by 12-2 on the back of technical superiority.Ravi Dahiya and Deepak Nehra will be in action later today.The Commonwealth Games 2022 took place in Birmingham on July 28 and will continue until August 8.
