Potra wins best Marathi film in the 20th edition of the Pune International Film Festival.

The 20th edition of the PUNE International Film Festivals began in the presence of Padma Shri awardee film director Girish Kasarvalli and guest of honour Rumi Jaffrey.

(Written by Swarali Joshirao)On Thursday, the 20th edition of the PUNE International Film Festivals began in the presence of Padma Shri awardee veteran film director Girish Kasarvalli and guest of honour and well-known film writer Rumi Jaffrey at India's National Film Archive.Between two dawns, a Spanish film, won the Best International Film award at the Global Cinema Competition, while Potra took the Best Marathi film award.Chakuli Deokar, the protagonist of this film, won the best actress award for her debut film.When asked about her experience, Deokar, 15, said, This is my first film, it was a great experience for me.

I am happy, and will continue to do so in the future.Shankar Dhotre gave Potra the best script award, along with a tribute to Indias melody queen Bharat Ratna's late Lata Mangeshkar, as well as an opening address by 14-time National Award winner Girish Kasarvalli.This year's festival was based on Satyajit Ray, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, and Sahir Ludhianvi.I want to congratulate the PIFF crew on their success.
