New Delhi: The womens reservation bill has come back into focus ahead of Parliament's Winter session, with several opposition parties including the JD(U), which had previously opposed the proposal and requested that it be introduced and passed in this session.The bill, which seeks to allocate one-third of seats for women in the Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies, was introduced in 1996.It was introduced in Rajya Sabha in 2010, but it fell apart with the dissolution of the 15th Lok Sabha in 2014.Any bill pending in Lok Sabha falls apart with the dissolution of the House.
