PUNE: Thousands of people from Dhayari and its adjacent areas along the Sinhagad Road who had been receiving water at low pressure for the past few days can expect a boost in demand. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has completed work to establish an additional water connection to enhance the city's supply. With the completion of the work, the supply will be increased gradually, according to the civic officials and local political parties. The area, which receives water from wells, has been experiencing low pressure supply as the water levels in wells have dropped due to the summer and rain delays.

Local political parties had petitioned the municipal administration to initiate immediate steps to improve the quantity of water.Residents were facing a large water scarcity, according to local activist Mahesh Pokale. We checked the pipeline network. To expand the supply, a decision was made to add a link from the main distribution line.

Pokale said that this is expected to increase the demand further.Dhayari is now under water scarcity, according to Vishal Rokade, a local resident.Even after the area was merged in the PMC limits in 2017, there has been no reduction in demand.Due to an uneven supply and low pressure, many societies also rely on water tankers.

Authorities at the PMC said they would continue to monitor the progress of the recent work and would make necessary improvements if necessary.
