On Saturday, Punjab police filed a lawsuit against three writers for alleged mistaking of Sikh history in three Class XII books.According to sources, the books were allegedly prescribed in Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) affiliated schools.Manjit Singh Sodhi, the author of The Modern ABC of History of Punjab, and MS Mann, the author of History Punjab, were arrested and charged with crimes.The case was registered on the basis of a complaint by farmer leader Baldev Singh Sirsa.The three were charged with violations of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 295A (hurting religious beliefs), 153A (wanton vilification or assaults against any particular religion, race, nationality, place of birth, residence, language, etc., or against the founders and prophets of a religion), 504 (intentional insult with the intention to induce On April 28, a probe was launched and the report was submitted to the Punjab home department.
