Rampur recorded 39.02 percent voter turnout by 7 p.m., while Amzagarh had 48.8 percent . Azamgarh reported a 57.56% voter turnout in 2019, while Rampur reported 63.19% results in 2019 .

LUCKNOW: On Thursday, low voter turnout was reported for bypolls in two parliamentary constituencies in Uttar Pradesh.Rampur recorded 39.02 percent voter turnout by 7 p.m., while Amzagarh had 48.8 percent, according to the Election Commission of India.The two groups had an average 43.8% voter turnout, according to the survey.This is much less than the voter turnout in two seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Six candidates are running in Rampur for the Lok Sabha bypolls, including BJP Ghanshyam Singh Lodhi and Samajwadi parties Asim Raza, who is a close aide to party veteran Azam Khan.13 candidates are competing in Azamgarh, including Dinesh Lal Yadav alias Nirahua of the BJP, Dharmendra Yadav of the Samajwadi Party, and Shah Alam, who is supported by the BSP.On June 26, the counting of votes and the results of the bypolls will be revealed.
