Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) India – December 7, 2006 – Real Kashmir continued their unbeaten run in the I-League by defeating Sreenidi Deccan 2-1 at the TRC Stadium in Srinagar on Tuesday.According to a press release from the I League, the Snow Leopards made a spectacular comeback in the final minute of the game, after trailing until the hour mark with Asheer Akhtar's early goal for Sreenidi Deccan.Jerry Pulamte received the ball on the left wing before sprinting inside and hitting his marker to shoot, but Sreenidi custodian Aryan Lamba saved a corner.After the visitors' sloppy attempt to clear the ball, Sreenidi Deccan took the lead in the 12th minute when Lamba closed it down to trim any chance.
Real Kashmir worked hard for the equalizer and went close to scoring in the 26th minute.Nozim Babadzhanov, a set-piece specialist, put his corner on Lalnuntluanga Bawitlung on the edge of the penalty area, but the midfielder skidded his shot over the bar.Real Kashmir came close once more just eight minutes before halftime, this time with striker Issahak Nuhu Seidu.Samuel Kynshi launched a cross for the Ghanaian in the six-yard box, however, after defeating Sreenidi defender Awal Mohammed in the air, Nuhu shot just off target.Real Kashmir started the second half just like they started the first. Nurudeen was again in the thick of it, with a wide opening in the Sreenidi half, after scoring his first goal in the 51st minute from Babadzhanovs corner.Real Kashmir took a penalty kick at the hour mark after pulling the trigger from more than 25 yards out, but the visiting goalkeeper Lamba tipped his spectacular shot over the bar.In his attempt to block the attack, Sreenidi defender Awal handled Pulamtes' shot from inside the box.Nurudeen took the penalty, leaving Lamba the wrong way to score the equalizer for the hosts in the first minute of add-on injury time. Songpu Singsit, a substitute for Louis Ogana, ran forward on the right wing before cutting the ball back for him.But the Nigerian, who had the goal in front of him, could only fire wide from six yards out.The match was just about to come to an end when Ibrahim Nurudeen took it for Real Kashmir right at the huff.Real Kashmir extended their lead at the top of the table with 16 points from six matches after Wadudu sent a chipped ball to the box, who unleashed a spectacular half-volley into the top corner, leaving Lamba with no chance of defeating Sreenidi Deccan.
