Report: Pakistani Court Requests Shehbaz Sharif's Son's Surrender, Prohibiting His Arrest

Suleman Shehbaz was barred from being arrested by the FIA in a money laundering lawsuit . He is due to return to Pakistan on Sunday after four years of self-exile in London .

Islamabad (British ): Suleman Shehbaz, the son of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, was barred from being arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday in a money laundering lawsuit when he is due to return to the country on Sunday after four years of self-exile in London, according to the Daily Post.According to him, he wants to appear before the relevant authorities.Following the allegations, the court accepted the protective bail and told him to appear before it by December 13.Shehbaz Sharif and his sons Hamza and Suleman were arrested in November 2020 by the FIA.Suleman's arrest warrants were also issued.

In July this year, a trial court declared Suleman a proclaimed perpetrator along with another criminal in a Rs16 billion money laundering lawsuit.According to the FIA report, the investigation team discovered 28 benami accounts of the Shehbaz family through which money laundering of Rs 16.3 billion was committed from 2008-18.The FIA looked at a money trail of 17,000 credit transactions.Suleman said he was forced to leave Pakistan for the sake of his safety after false and deceptive cases were filed against him and his family in order to establish a new political order.
