Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal ordered the construction of additional classrooms in Delhi government schools in April 2015.The PWD was given the task of building 2405 classrooms in 193 schools.CVC conducted a survey to find out the need of the classrooms and estimated a total demand of 7180 equivalent classrooms (ECR) in 194 schools, almost three times more than the requirement of 2405 classrooms on August 25, 2019.In the case of better specifications, the building cost increased by up to 90 percent without inviting a bid.
