Return to Afghanistan of Indian officials

Technical team will be stationed in Kabul to monitor and coordinate efforts to deliver humanitarian assistance . Deployment follows repeated promises from the Taliban that if they returned to India, they would have a safe environment .

NEW DELHI (New Delhi) – Following a visit by an Indian delegation to Afghanistan earlier this month, the government announced Thursday that a technical team would be stationed in Kabul, the Indian embassy, to ensure that India is providing the Taliban-ruled country with the necessary assistance.For the first time since the Taliban took over Kabul on August 15, Indian diplomats were summoned to the embassy in Kabul.India has a historic and civilizational relationship with the Afghan people.According to a statement issued by the government, an Indian technical team has reached Kabul today and has been deployed in our Embassy there to closely monitor and coordinate the efforts of various stakeholders for the successful delivery of humanitarian assistance and continuing our contact with the Afghan people.

The Taliban has been extremely grateful for India's humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan.
