MotoGP announced on Saturday that it would pull Italian legend Valentino Rossis number 46 from the championship in two weeks at his home Grand Prix in Tuscany.Rossi won nine world championships, including seven in the top tier, winning 115 race victories and 235 podium finishes in total, before calling a close to the end of his career last year after a quarter-century in Grand Prix racing.The Doctor, who is known for his post-victory antics, was a showman on the bike and off it in the Dutch TT at Assen in 2017.MotoGP said in a statement that the 43-year-old will retire the number at the Mugello Circuit on May 28.
