The court also asked counsel to take instructions from the Environment Ministry on this aspect .
New Delhi, India, October 30: The Supreme Court ordered the chief secretaries of Rajasthan and Gujarat to perform the investigation in priority areas relating to the total length of transmission lines and the estimated number of bird diverters required to safeguard the Great Indian Bustard (GIB).The Supreme Court was informed of reports of deaths of male and female Great Indian Bustard in priority areas by the Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud orally.The court ordered the chief secretaries of Rajasthan and Gujarat to perform a comprehensive exercise in priority areas related to the total length of the transmission line and the estimated number of bird diverters required, and submitted a status report in this regard.The court also asked counsel to take instructions from the Environment Ministry on this aspect.Similarly, the Centre wanted to restructure the SC-appointed commission to monitor the matter by requesting two people with technical experience in transmission lines.
