Second gold for India at the shooting world championships; quota for Paris 2024 Paralympics secured by Singhraj Adhana

AL AIN (UAE): Singhraj Adhana, a double paralympic medalist, secured a quota for India at the 2024 Paris Paralympics on Wednesday by placing fourth in the P1-mens 10m Air Pistol SH1 class at the Para Shooting World Championships.The 40-year-old Indian, who won silver and bronze at the Tokyo Paralympics last year, was in title contention as he led for a significant portion of the event until a score of seven stifled his medal hopes.Jo Jengdu of Korea won gold with a score of 235.7, followed by Poland's Sowinski Szymon (233.1) and Ibragimov Server (213.3), while he came in fourth.Singhraj was part of the Indian shooting squad, which included Manish Narwal and Nihal Singh, who won its second gold medal in the P1-Mens 10m Air Pistol SH1 division at the World Championships.

Korea (1697-39x) and Turkey (1674-32x) followed the Indian team.India coach JP Nautiyal said the team has done very well, scoring 1704 in Air Pistol is incredible.I am very happy that we started with a quota from Singhraj at the Worlds.In the P3- Mixed 25m Pistol SH1, Indian pistol shooters, led by Rahul Jakhar, captured the team gold.

Avani Lekhara of India will compete in the R2-Womens 10m Air Rifle SH1 event on Thursday.
