Sensex gains 349 points; banks and infrastructure stocks advance

The 30 stock S&P BSE Sensex was trading 349.55 points or 0.7 per cent higher at 52,615.27 points . The benchmark Sensex has gained a smidgeon for the second day in a row today .

Mumbai (Maharashtra) — The 30 stock S&P BSE Sensex was trading 349.55 points or 0.7 per cent higher at 52,615.27 points at 1.20 p.m. on Friday, against its previous session close of 52,265.72 points.Later in the day, the markets saw some selling pressure, falling to a low of 52,447.25 points.The benchmark Sensex has gained a smidgeon for the second day in a row today.On Thursday, the Nifty 50 of the National Stock Exchange had gained 443.19 points or 0.76%, up 119.10 points or 0.77% on its previous day's close of 15,556.65 points.

Mahindra & Mahindra increased 3.3 percent to Rs 1062.Hindustan Unilever increased 2.37 percent to Rs 2305.There was a strong buying trend in banking and financial stocks.Bajaj Finance increased 2.79 percent to Rs 5599.65.

IndusInd Bank increased 1.93 percent to Rs 801.85.HDFC Bank's rate increased by 1.53 percent to Rs 1357.35.State Bank of India increased 1.26 percent to Rs 457.05.Reliance Industries Limited, an index heavyweight, was up 0.74 percent at Rs 2482.75.Eight of the 30 Sensex scrips were in the red.

Infosys' prices fell 1.30 percent to Rs 1434.35.HCL Technologies fell 1.10 percent to Rs 960.80.TCS dropped 0.84 percent to Rs 3281.25.Wipro's stock fell 0.61 percent to 0.613 percent.
