Up to now, more than 81.39 crore Covid vaccine doses have been delivered to states and Union Territories, with 85,92,550 doses planned, according to the Union Health Ministry.According to the state and Union Territories, over 4.23 crore balance and unutilised vaccine doses are also available for inoculation.In a statement, the Union government said that it will accelerate the pace and scope of Covid vaccination throughout the region.The vaccine drive has been intensified with the availability of more vaccines, as well as improved tracking of vaccine availability to states and Union Territories, as well as simplifying the vaccine supply chain, according to the report.

Under the universalization of the Covid vaccination campaign, the Union government purchases and distributes 75 per cent of the vaccines manufactured by vaccine manufacturers in the region free of charge to the states and Union Territories.
