Prayagraj: All the 23 development blocks of the Prayagraj will be equipped with permanent cow shelters, replacing the existing temporary ones, with the Yogi 2.0 government taking steps for better cow care in the state of Uttar Pradesh.Stripped and abandoned bovines will be kept in these permanent cow shelters rather than the existing temporary ones after rescue. The permanent shelters will be more large and better able to house the bovines if they are spread over 30 to 50 acres. The state government had directed all district magistrates that permanent cow shelters be constructed in all development blocks, each having the capacity to hold 3,000 to 5,000 cows, he said.In the district's trans-Ganga and trans-Yamuna regions, the hunt for suitable land began. There are certain established rules that must be kept in mind.On agricultural land, the proposed permanent cow shelters cannot be built. For this, either barren land or land for the Gram Sabha are needed, according to district animal husbandry department officials. Three of them are permanent, while the remaining 176 are non-permanent.The permanent cow shelters have the capability to house around 1,000 bovines.According to Dr. RP Rai, chief veterinary officer (CVO) of Prayagraj, 18,800 cows are living in these 179 Gaushalas.Officials said that the planned permanent Gaushalas would have ample space for sheds, water, and drainage, as well as a sufficient feedstock bank. Prayagraj had set a target of 43,00 quintals of fodder as donation in this order.
