Soon, camping places will be available inside Goa's sanctuaries: Rane, Vishwajit

PANAJI: On Friday, Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane announced that outside Goas forests, there will be areas for camping.Such facilities, he said, would encourage more people to visit Goas wildlife sanctuaries and parks.Plans are also in the works to modernize the Goas only bird sanctuary Dr Salim Ali bird sanctuary in Chorao.Following discussions with forest department officials, we've decided to focus on the promotion of forest eco-tourism in forest areas and forest parks.

He said recently that the Goa Forest Development Corporation will be the state's nodal authority for all eco-tourism activities.To make people more interested in and visit forest parks, we will carry out these tasks with assistance from experts.Prioritizing camping areas and jungle trails will be given priority.According to Rane, we will create a completely new ecosystem for us so we can see the animals within the park.

There are plans to develop jungle lodges similar to those in Madhya Pradesh, in Karnataka's forests and wildlife parks.A forest protection scheme is also being drawn up for Goa.
