According to him, up to 63 new routes have been introduced recently, which would also be increased to about 108 routes.The CM praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the UDAN initiative for improved connectivity to small cities, saying that the rapid increase in air connectivity is a sign of PM Modis' resolve, which he said that even those who wear Hawaii slippers should be able to fly in.Before 2017, only two functioning airports in UP existed, Lucknow and Varanasi, while the ones in Gorakhpur and Agra were partially operational.In the meantime, air services have been extended to nine airports.
