New Delhi (India), August 6: The Union Government reported on Saturday that more than 196.89-crore COVID-19 vaccine doses had been given to States and Union Territories up to this point.According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, more than 196.89 crore (1,96,89,26,625) vaccine doses have been given to StatesUTs so far through the Govt.of India (free of cost channel) and through a direct state procurement scheme.In addition, more than 7.10-crore (7,10,38,470) balance and unutilized COVID vaccine doses are still available with the StatesUTs to be administered.The Union Government is committed to increasing the rate and scope of COVID-19 vaccination across the region.From June 21, 2021, the next phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination began.The vaccination drive has been ramped up by the availability of more vaccines, advance notice of vaccine availability to States and UTs, thus aiding in better planning by them, and streamlining the vaccine supply chain.The Government of India has also supported the States and UTs in their national vaccination campaign.The Union Government would procure and supply (free of charge) 75 per cent of the COVID-19 vaccines being manufactured by the country's vaccine manufacturers to states and UTs in the new phase of the universalization of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign. The total number of COVID-19 cases has now reached 4,41,26,994, of which 1,34,793 are active.The remaining 0.31% of cases are active.The recovery rate is currently at 98.50 percent.In the last 24 hours, 19,928 recovery attempts were made, taking the total recovery number to 4,34,65,552. According to the government's estimates, the daily positivity rate is 4.96 percent and the weekly positiveity rate is 4.63 percent.According to the reports, 87.75 crore of total tests have been performed so far, of which 3,91,187 have been conducted in the last 24 hours.So far in the nationwide vaccination campaign, over 205.92 crore total vaccine doses have been given.India has now issued over 100 million precaution doses of COVID-19 vaccines, according to the Union health ministry. India has distributed over ten crore (100 million) antidotes to patients.An additional layer of protection is now available to 10 million people.Covid vaccination Amrit Mahotsav is now in full swing under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, as part of the Central Government's 75-day booster program.This comes after the government began offering free precautionary drug to all adults in the age group 18-75 years at government COVID vaccination centers.
