India India-Raipur (Chhattisgarh)-On Friday, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that incentives should be given to states with a better financial management to encourage others to adopt financial discipline.In the meeting presided over by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, CM Baghel presented several plans and ideas regarding the General Budget 2023-24.The central government is providing revenue deficit grants to many of these states, which have been facing a significant revenue deficit for the past several years, he said.Since the establishment of the state, Chhattisgarh has been able to offer better financial management and strict financial discipline.

Chhattisgarh reported a revenue surplus of Rs 4,642 in the year 2021-22 as a result of better financial management and strict financial discipline, he said.Last year, the state took a net loan of only Rs 1,243 crore, and this year also no loan has been taken by the state.Baghel said that incentives should be given to states with better financial management, such as Chhattisgarh, in order to encourage other states to pursue financial discipline.
