NAGPUR: Since real cooked foodraw grains were not offered for almost 40 days in 2021, during the deadly second wave of the Covid epidemic, schools have been compelled to provide cash value of midday meals (MDM) to eligible students. The money has been transferred to a schools account, which then has to distribute it to their students.Gautam Gedam, the district's midday meals department, said, We are paying Rs210 per student for Std I-V students. It will cost Rs315,015 for students in Std VI-VIII.

The original strategy was to deposit the money directly in the student's bank account. We need students to have a bank account linked to Aadhaar, Gedam explained. We discovered that there are some students who do not have a bank account when gathering data. It's unknown if they don't have it because they have no Aadhaar card or they have just not opened it.

When I sent the paperwork, Gedam said, the goal was to give money to kids directly. This policy only applies to students with a bank account. For the rest, it will be done by the principle.Gedam said he does not know how many students actually received the money from their bank accounts because, if there are any irregularities in account information, the money will be sent to school.

The principal explained that now the biggest worry is getting a precise update because the payment is between Rs210 and Rs315.We ask parents to bring in more technology, but many do not.It is basically a distraction for our workers.
