Summer preparations: Railways will repair broken tracks for the safety of passengers.

Patna, Nepal: The East Central Railway (ECR) has extended summer safety efforts in its all five divisions (Danapur, Sonepur, Samastipur, Pt Deen Dayal Upadhaya, and Dhanbad), as the temperatures rise.In the summer heat, rail operations teams have been on alert to perform track maintenance work round the clock and replace broken or damaged tracks on schedule to ensure that passengers are safe on their journey.According to Birendra Kumar, ECR's chief public relations officer (CPRO), railways safety staff are keeping a close eye on the condition of tracks, the condition of overhead electric (OHE) wires, and the signalling system in each division.According to the CPRO, the railways is also keeping an eye on fire safety programs at key stations in the ECR.

Danapur railway officials said that the railways has held a follow-up review meeting every Tuesday at its headquarters in Hajipur to assess the safety measures being implemented in all divisions as per the guidelines.Moreover, on the Danapur-Patna Buxar-Pt Deen Dayal Upadhaya Junction route, railways is working on increasing the speed limit of mail and express trains from 130 km/h to 160 km/h.On these two routes, which see high traffic concentrations every day, the railways have focused more on summer safety.Rrailways is also preparing to run semi-high-speed passenger trains on these routes, he said.In parallel, railways launched PM- Mission Karamayogi Yojna in Sonepur division on Friday.
