Sword given to Padmanabhaswamy temple authorities for the Navratri festival

The sword of Travancore kings is taken to Padmanabhapuram palace in Kanyakumari district . The procession of deities Munnuthitha Nangai, Velimalai Kumaraswamy, and Devarakattu Saraswathi began at Padmanabhaswamy temple in Thiruvananthapuram .

On Friday morning, the riteal journey of the sword from Padmanabhapuram palace in Kanyakumari district to Padmanabhaswamy temple in Thiruvananthapuram began.Ministers of Hindu faith, charitable endowment, and Kerala Devosom Board minister P K Sekhar Babu, Kerala School Education Minister Sivankutti, and officials from both ministries attended the conference in Tamil Nadu.Every year, the sword of Travancore kings is taken to Padmanabhapuram palace in Kanyakumari district, which was part of the erstwhile Travancore Kingdom, at Padmanabhaswamy temple in Thiruvananthapuram for the Navratri festival.The festival will take place in Thiruvananthapuram, along with the sword.

On the night before, Munnuthitha Nangai and Velimalai Kumaraswamy arrived at the palace and were welcomed ceremonially.The sword of Marthanda Varma, which was kept at Upparimaligai of the palace, was taken out on Wednesday morning and handed over to Kerala Devaswom Board minister, who in turn handed over the sword to Tamil Nadu HR & CE minister P K Sekhar Babu.To be carried on the procession, the minister handed over the sword to temple staff.The procession of deities Munnuthitha Nangai, Velimalai Kumaraswamy, and Devarakattu Saraswathi began at Padmanabhaswamy temple in Thiruvananthapuram, led by a sword bearer.

The temple site is being worked on for Rs 68 lakh, and he told the authorities to accelerate it.
