The 27th chief judge of the Himachal HC, Saeed, is sworn in.

Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administered his oath of office at Raj Bhawan . Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was also present at the oath ceremony .

Shimla, March 13, 2017: On Thursday, Justice Amjad Ahtesham Sayed was sworn in as the 27th Chief Justice of the Himalayan Pradesh high court.Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administered his oath of office at Raj Bhawan.Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was also present at the oath ceremony in the Raj Bhawan's Darbar Hall, where chief secretary Ram Subhag Singh treated the guests and read out the President of India's Warrant of Appointment.To welcome the new chief justice, the HC gave a full court welcome address.

Justice Amjad Ahtesham Sayed said in his speech that the judiciary played a vital role in upholding historical values and morality, and that judges are under the obligation to provide justice to all its citizens.He stressed the need for affordable, rapid, and cost-effective justice for the poor and homeless alike.
