Trichy corporation completed work for a modern knowledge and study center funded by the smart cities mission program . Facility will enable students from urban poor families to take competitive examinations at no cost .

Trichy, India: On Saturday, the Trichy corporation completed the work for a modern knowledge and study center funded by the smart cities mission program for Rs 2.50 crore.Municipal administration minister K Nehru laid the foundation stone for the facility, which has a 7,843 sq ft floor area, at a corporation's abandoned property in Kuthupapallam, near Birds road in Cantonment.The study center, which will be located at the abandoned property, will enable students from urban poor families to take competitive examinations, such as TNPSC, UPSC, JEE, NEET, and bank examinations at no cost.A separate women's section is also on the cards.

Since the nearby residential areas have a large youth population, the location was selected.According to a spokesperson for Trichy Corporation, the study center will have facilities for the readers to download reference materials and take hard copies.The first study center project for the city will be launched in a year.Energy-efficient lights will be used, while the electrical products to be used will have a five-star energy efficiency rating.
