The Delhi Commission for Women has improved access to the 181 helpline, which has seen a surge in calls.

Delhi Commission for Womens Helpline 181 has increased in number of calls . DCW Women Helpline received 35,296 calls in February, before the Truecaller dialler was introduced .

Due to the use of the 181 Womens Helpline Quick Dial Feature in the Truecaller App, Delhi Commission for Womens Helpline 181 has increased in number of calls.However, a major part of the calls were made to see if the 181 Womens Helpline exists and understand how it can benefit women and girls.The remaining calls concerned domestic abuse, sexual assault, and other crimes against women.The commissions for which women helpline 181 was integrated with the Truecaller dialler were low.

Today, the commissions helpline for women is getting over 4,000 calls per day, which is more than double the number of calls received per day before.The DCW Women Helpline received 35,296 calls in February, before the Truecaller dialler was introduced.A total of 68,576 calls were received in March as a result of the integration.Truecaller's director of public affairs Pragya Misra said, It's a precaution to keep our customers safe.

This feature was used by about 2.45 million of our 220 million users in India.DCW Chairperson Swati Maliwal says the commission has devised robust methods to tackle the rise in calls and is extending the process with the support of the Delhi government.It is our sincere attempt to reach out to each and every woman and child in need.
