The election office is gearing up for civic body and panchayat elections.

Indore election officer Pratul Sinha said that the work to update the existing records of the employees has been initiated by mailing letters to the concerned departments . Elections at all the Panchayat positions will be conducted using ballot papers, while the elections of ward corporators and mayor will be held via EVMs .

Indore: The first level testing of EVMs, preparation of around 11,000 workers, and the arrangement of stationery and transportation have been scheduled by Indore election officer Pratul Sinha, who said that the work to update the existing records of the employees has been initiated by mailing letters to the concerned departments, who have been displaced, died, or retired to remove them from the list of polling parties members.Around 3,500 EVMs are in stock, and from this, around 2,700 machines will be needed to service a total of 2,250 polling booths, and that will be enough to hold 11,000 employees for the civic body and three tier Panchayat elections, according to him.According to the latest news, elections at all the Panchayat positions will be conducted using ballot papers, while the elections of ward corporators and mayor will be held via EVMs, according to the mayor.The election officials are aiming for re-reservation of the wards in the civic body elections.
