The French envoy offers cooperation for restoration and maintenance of Chandigarh's architectural legacy.

French Ambassador to India, Emmanuel Lenain, called on Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Banwarilal Purohit . The meeting was held at Punjab Raj Bhavan, and Chandigarh is looking forward to French assistance in the identification, restoration, and legal protection of heritage furniture .

During his trip to Chandigarh, French Ambassador to India, Emmanuel Lenain, called on Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Banwarilal Purohit on Saturday.The Ambassador expressed their love for the restoration and conservation of Chandigarh's historical heritage.The meeting was held at Punjab Raj Bhavan, and Chandigarh is looking forward to French assistance in the identification, restoration, and legal protection of heritage furniture as well as in the protection of architectural heritage, according to Purohit.With the support of the French Development Agency, a 24X7 water supply scheme will be implemented soon, and French experts will look at the reconstruction and conservation of the Capitol Complex and other exposed reinforced concrete structures, according to the French envoy.

At present, more than 10,000 students from India are studying in France, and we hope that this number will increase by the end of the year, according to Purohit, who said that the French have created a great city by virtue of their collaboration, particularly in the form of an architectural style, and that the French are now assisting in the construction of the city.In addition, Emmanuel Lebrun, the French Diplomat, met with Ophlie Belin, Chandigarh's Director, Experts from France will continue to help in the restoration and conservation of the city's heritage sites, including the Capitol Complex and other locations of significance.Beyond this, the Chandigarh Administration expressed concern about the legal protection of the city's historic furniture.The meeting also discussed the possibility of starting student exchange programs with the Chandigarh Architecture College and other technical colleges in the city.Dr Vijay Namdeorao Zade, Finance Secretary, Alice Gauny, National Coordinator for Alliance Francaise, Diane Josse, Cultural Attache, and President of the Alliance Francaise were among those present.
