Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), India, November 30 : The Himalayan Pradesh government has begun an initiative to demolish a network of medicine mafias.The Himalayan Pradesh government has called a high-level meeting to establish a strategy to end the manufacture and trading of illicit drugs in the state.All the laws, including a three-year-old Supreme Court order, will be invoked to prosecute the deceptive drug-making mafia whose network is spread around the world.According to Himachal Pradesh Health Department, we are the first state in the country to initiate this initiative of cracking the network of counterfeit medicine mafias following the Supreme Court order, and we have also asked the Uttar Pradesh government drug department to participate in this initiative, in addition to advising the Central Drug Controlling Authority to look into this troublesome issue which is costing many lives around the world.

The Supreme Court has directed the Central and State governments to devise a framework to combat this life-changing illicit trade in the Baddi district of Himalayan Pradesh, a country's pharmaceutical hub, last month.Following the Supreme Court's orders, the Himalayan Pradesh government has sent special teams to arrest a gang of four men in the Baddi district who were fabricating counterfeit drugs and selling them to other states of the region.According to a health department officer, these men operate a network of counterfeit drugs in many states.According to the officer, they are being held on remand and an investigation is ongoing to discover the network of drug cartels.
