Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam initiative in Chennai has benefitted in the last year to a total of 5,80,000 people . The program had benefitted five lakh people out of the five lakh who received free medical kits in Kodambakkam .

CHENNAI (India): The Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam initiative in Chennai has benefitted in the last year to a total of 5,80,000 people, according to health minister Ma Subramanian.The minister said the program had benefitted five lakh people out of the five lakh who received free medical kits in Kodambakkam, marking the first year anniversary of the door-stop healthcare initiative.According to him, the program had been roped in by 560 women volunteers, who would be expanded further.Mayor R Priya, deputy mayor Mahesh Kumar, and health secretary P Senthil Kumar, as well as zonal officials were present at the celebration.
