The murder trial of Kamlesh Tiwari has been moved from Lucknow to Prayagraj by the Supreme Court.

Supreme Court sent the trial in the murder trial of Hindu Samaj Party leader Kamlesh Tiwari from Lucknow to Prayagraj. The accused argued that a free and fair trial would not be possible due to the communally charged atmosphere in Lucknow.

New Delhi (India) – September 24 : The Supreme Court sent the trial in the murder trial of Hindu Samaj Party leader Kamlesh Tiwari from Lucknow to Prayagraj on Friday.The accused accused argued that a free and fair trial would not be possible due to the communally charged atmosphere in Uttar Pradesh's capital, Lucknow.They demanded that the case be moved from Uttar Pradesh to Delhi, and the Supreme Court refused.According to the accused parties, they were at risk of dying in Lucknow and a fair trial was not impossible in the capital city.Kamlesh Tiwari was killed at his home in Lucknow's Khursheed Bagh neighborhood on October 18, 2019, allegedly by Ashfaq Hussain and Pathan.
