The number of suspects in the Dibrugarh University ragging case has increased to five.

Assam Police arrest another suspect, Dibyajyoti Gogoi, a student, for his alleged involvement in the unfortunate Dibrugarh University ragging incident . Dibrugarh University had suspended three wardens of the varsitys hostel, days after a first-semester postgraduate student Anand Sharma jumped off his hostel building on November 27 .

Dibrugarh (Assam), December 1: Assam Police arrested another suspect, Dibyajyoti Gogoi, a student, on Thursday for his alleged involvement in the unfortunate Dibrugarh University ragging incident.We have so far arrested five people, according to Dibrugarh District Superintendent of Police.Days after a first-semester postgraduate student Anand Sharma jumped off his hostel building on November 27 because he reportedly was angry with the harassment, Dibrugarh University had suspended three wardens of the varsity's hostel,Sharma was immediately transported to a private hospital, where his condition is said to be critical.I have asked the Deputy Commissioner to provide the victim with all possible assistance.I ask the Education Minister to assist if the parents of the victim want to move him out of the state for better care.

According to an order issued by the Assam Medical College on November 29, two students were convicted of threatening junior PG students both physically and mentally, according to Principal Dr Sanjib Kakati.The two students were then discharged from the hostel immediately and were barred from service and academic privileges for six months, according to Dr Kakati.
