Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi laid the foundation stone for the sports stadium in Roadmajra village in the Sri Chamkaur Sahib assembly constituency on Wednesday.The Sports stadium will be constructed in honor of farmers who died while protesting the BJP-led central government's policies.According to a statement released by the Punjab Chief Ministers Office, the Chief Minister also gave a Rs one crore grant for the stadium to be constructed in the name of farmers.CM Channi also installed a water tank for the residents of villages Rodmajra and Chaklan, which cost Rs 45.81 lakh, to provide safe drinking water.In a statement, Punjab Chief Ministers Office said that this sports stadium being developed by the state government will be a real tribute to farmers who died as a result of the state government's rebellion against black laws.

In addition, he said that gym equipment and sports kits were also being distributed to sports clubs to motivate the youth towards sports in the Sri Chamkaur Sahib Constituency, for which a 2.50 crore grant has already been issued, as well as the sports stadium at village Roadmajra.He said that the extension of the Bela-Paniali highway connecting 344-A would give a significant boost to the local economy, and that work on a Rs 114 crore bridge on river Satluj has already begun.
