New Delhi, India, November 25: The Supreme Court decided to hear petitions seeking legal recognition of same-sex marriage under the Special Marriage Act on Friday, alerting the Centre and Attorney General on the petition.Several high courts in India, including Kerala and Delhi, have also heard similar-sex marriage claims.The Center also announced in a statement to the House of Commons that the Ministry was taking action to forward all pleas to the Supreme Court.Two gay couples have applied to the Supreme Court to grant same-sex marriage, according to Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi.
