The Uttar Pradesh chief minister assesses security ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Kushinagar.

Yogi Adityanath inspects security at locations where PM Narendra Modis will visit . PM will commemorate Buddha Purnima, Lord Buddhas birth anniversary .

LUCKNOWGORAKHPUR: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted an inspection on Saturday to review security conditions at the locations where Prime Minister Narendra Modis will visit to Kushinagar to commemorate Buddha Purnima, Lord Buddha's birth anniversary.On Saturday, the CM landed in Kushinagar at 11.30 a.m., where he met with the Mahaparinirvana temple, where Lord Buddha is said to have reached Nirvana.After inspecting the temple and arrangements for the PM's visit, he offered prayers at the reclining statue of Lord Buddha.Later, the CM arranged a meeting of officials in the Kushinagar airports lounge and met with officials to offer the PM a warm welcome.

The CM also checked the helipad that would be used by the PM's helicopter.On the occasion of Buddha Purnima, the PM will fly to Kushinagar around 9.30 a.m. on May 16.On his birth anniversary, he will pray to Lord Buddha in Kushinagar.Modi will also fly to Lumbini, Nepal, which is the birthplace of Lord Buddha.

The Prime Minister would carry out a chadar and prayers for the reclining Buddha statue at the Mahaparinirvana temple.The temple will house a delegation of Buddhist monks, including the president of the Bhikshu Sangh AB Dnyaneshwar.According to a government spokesperson, the PM will also spend some time in meditation at the Mahaparinirvana temple, after which he will give chadar and Sangdaan to Buddhist monks.This will be the second time the Prime Minister will visit the Mahaparinirvana temple in seven months, he said.
