Gurgaon: The GMDA is planning to redevelop three major highway sections in new sectors.Officials claim the designated areas are on the master roads dividing sections 61 and 62, which also divides sectors 60 and 63, and the master road dividing sections 62 and 65.Several gated organizations, including Pioneer Park and Pioneer Presidia, as well as schools, offices, and commercial spaces are located along these stretches. There are also some high-density urban villages in the area, such as Ullahwas village.

According to a senior GMDA official, the road that divides sectors 62 and 65 has a daily traffic count of about 9,527 vehicles, but have been maintained only through patchwork since 2016, resulting in their state of degradation.According to the official, the scheme would also include creating pavement markings and implementing road safety equipment like speed barriers and bollards as required by the Indian Road Congress. The GMDA has appointed a consultant to write the detailed project report for the project.Once the plan has been submitted to the authority's core planning cell (CPC), it will be considered and accepted.

Although the CPC accepted the work at the meeting, chief executive officer Sudhir Rajpal directed authorities to look at the possibility of establishing a cycle track in these areas in due course of time.Residents of the area applauded the move.Since it has been a long time since the roads in our area have been given the proper attention, this project is extremely important.According to Abhijeet Rana, a resident of Sector 61, traffic flow would not only be smoother, but commuting would also be a safer experience as the roads are maintained properly.
