(India)-Bengaluru (Karnataka) (India)-On Friday, former chief minister and Karnataka Congress leader Siddaramiah slammed the Centres' Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, claiming that although the BJP is now displaying the national flag, its ideological parent, RSS, was adamantly opposed to the tricolour. The BJP, however, maintained that the effort to honor the national flag was motivated by patriotism and that opposition politicians should not launch political attacks against it.According to the Congress chief, we have no objection to the BJP's Har Ghar Tiranga initiative. They should make it mandatory to fly the national flag in all RSS branches, according to Siddaramiah. In an article, which was first published in the RSS journal Organizer around 1947, the tricolour had been deemed a ominous symbol and should be removed.According to Siddaramiah, the Central government should apologise for the outrageous remarks made by the RSS, Jan Sangh, the BJP, and other non-governmental groups regarding the national flag, national anthem, and the Constitution.Throughout the long struggle for independence, great patriots such as Suraya Tayyabji, Pingali Venkaiah, Gandhiji, Nehru, and Subhash Chandra Bose were all instrumental in creating the national flag, he said.Speaking about polyester-made national flags, he said, The tricolour signifies unity, democracy, and truthfulness. The national flag should be made of cotton, according to the flag code.He said, on the contrary, that the sanctity of the tricolour has been weakened by making it out of polyester cloth, according to Congress leader Asaduddin Owaisi. The organizer magazine is the RSS's mouthpiece. In 1947, one of their issues, which occurred on July 17, called for a saffron-colored country flag. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative on July 22 to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and lift it in honor of India's 75th anniversary of independence, according to Union Minister Culture G Kishan Reddy, who said that the national flag was not a political issue and that everyone should participate in the initiative to commemorate it.He urged the opposition to avoid conducting political threats against the push.No one listens to the Opposition.Everyone is seated with Tiranga, celebrating and saluting it, and taking part in Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. I want people to refrain from making statements against Har Ghar Tiranga, he said. This is not a question of politics, but of government. This is a nation in the shape of a 130 crore people of the country, of Tiranga, of patriotism, according to Reddy.Between August 2nd and August 15, Prime Minister Modi invited all citizens to turn the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign into a national celebration by hoisting or displaying the national flag at their homes and using the Tiranga as a display image on their social media pages.
