Today in RS, the Center will introduce the Constitution (Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) Orders (Second Amendment) Bill.

The Bill aims to amend the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order, 1950 and the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order, 1967 . The Bill also amends the Scheduled Castes order to exclude the Gond community as a Scheduled Caste in four districts .

New Delhi (India), December 12: Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda will introduce the Constitution (Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) Orders (Second Amendment) Bill, 2022 in the Rajya Sabha to amend the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order, 1950 and the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order, 1967.The Bill has already been introduced by the Lok Sabha.The bill was introduced in Lok Sabha on March 28, 2022.It was introduced in the Lok Sabha in April.

The Bill also amends the Scheduled Castes order to exclude the Gond community as a Scheduled Caste in four districts: Chandauli, Kushinagar, Sant Kabir Nagar, and The ST order is amended to recognize the Gond community as a Scheduled Tribe in these four districts.The Winter Session of Parliament, which began on December 7, will have a total of 17 working days.According to the notified schedules, the government plans to introduce a total of 16 new bills during the session.
