New Delhi (New Delhi): On December 2, the International Computer Literacy Day is celebrated.World Computer Literacy Day, which began in 2001, aims to bridge the digital divide by bringing computer literacy to the world's farthest corners, and in particular to encourage children and women in India to embrace technology skills. To commemorate the institute's twentieth anniversary, an Indian company, the National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT), established World Computer Literacy Day in 2001.The day was set as a result of a survey that revealed that the majority of computer users in the United States are men.
The date was declared on NIIT's 20th Foundation Day on December 2, 2001.In the presence of then-Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, members of Parliament were trained on computers, and a customized postal envelope to symbolize the widespread adoption of computer literacy in the region was also unveiled.Mr Pawar said that this initiative began as a movement that was soon adopted by tens and thousands of learners around the world. When NIIT was established 40 years ago, we had a simple goal of linking people and computers together, which has evolved into a larger goal of helping people achieve their full potential, he said.
