Mangaluru MLA U T Khader announced that medical, dental, and engineering colleges in conjunction with gram panchayats, the forest department, and the Jana Shikshana Trust would host a day-long campaign on Saturday to clean and plant saplings on the Thokkotu-Mudipu highway, which includes four medical colleges, two dental colleges, a homoeopathy college, Mangaluru University, Infosys, and many educational institutions.According to Jana Shikshana Trust director N Sheena Shetty, an action plan has been developed to stage a one-day campaign to keep the Thokkotu-Mudipu route neat and green.At 9 a.m., MLA Khader will begin the process of sweeping the road stretch and potting saplings at Kuthar, near Thokkottu.The route from Thokkot to Mudipu will be divided into six segments, including Kuthar-Deralakatte, Deralakatte-Natekal, Asaigoli-P A College Road, PA College Road, and Kamblapadavu-Kurnadu, according to Shetty.
