Two are sentenced to death for the murder of Jharkhand judges.

DHANBAD: Two men were sentenced to life in prison until death on Saturday after allegedly running over district and session judge Uttam Anand with an autorickshaw on his morning walk in Jharkhands Dhanbad last year.Lakhan Verma and Rahul Verma were sentenced to an additional seven years in jail and a Rs 20,000 fine by a special CBI court in Dhanbad.Both probation terms will be imposed concurrently.It also directed the district legal services department to guarantee that the judges' families get compensation.

While taking a morning walk, the police robbed the autorickshaw with a sinister design and crashed it from behind.Pathak said the two knew that their actions might kill the victim.Anand was chased over by 5 a.m. on July 28, 2021, when the speeding autorickshaw was seen swerving intentionally towards the kerbside of a narrowly empty road near his home, where he was walking.He died of serious head injuries.
