Two communities are inspected by a team from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation visited Sachenid and Kalyanpur villages in Kalyanpur block . Team met with district malaria officer and members of the Mata Sagar Devi group .

Kanpur (Kanpur): On Thursday, an international team from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) visited Sachenid and Kalyanpur villages in Kalyanpur block to take a look at the achievements being made to eradicate Filariasis and learn about the challenges faced by the patient advocacy group.The group met with Arun Kumar Singh, a district malaria officer, and asked questions about the benefits offered to filaria patients and the operation procedures available to hydrocele Members of the family registry were also present at the Mass Drug Administration.On this occasion, Dr. VP Singh, state communicable disease officer, and representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Advocacy and Research (CFAR) were also present.Following this, the team visited village Binor in Kalyanpur block and met with members of the Mata Sagar Devi group to learn how aware they were of the disease.Participants in the study also shared their thoughts.

They were also encouraged to provide accessible facilities to the hydrocele patients.VP Singh suggested that the patients have other facilities available to them.Following this trip, the team went to Sachendi village and held a meeting with members of the filaria cluster forum of 9 women and 6 males.Members of the committee advised the team that various organizations were working to curb the spread of filaria.
