Two earthquakes strike Assam and Meghalaya.

Reports: Two earthquakes of 3.9 magnitude each struck Assam and Meghalaya in less than 24 hours . No reports of life or damage to property have been made in either quake .

Guwahati, India: Official reports said on Monday that two earthquakes of 3.9 magnitude each struck Assam and Meghalaya in less than 24 hours.The first earthquake, which occurred at 9.47 pm on Sunday, had its epicentre in the Nongpoh district of Meghalaya at a depth of 12 kilometers, and the second in Nagaon of Assam at a depth of 55 kilometers, according to reports.After the second earthquake struck the state at 3.22 pm on Monday, reports indicate earthquakes were felt in areas of central and northern Assam.Officials said no reports of life or damage to property have been made in either quake.
