Mumbai: The Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray called a meeting of the party leaders, district presidents and chief district coordinators, on Friday, as a confidence-boosting measure, according to Shiv Sena chairman Sanjay Raut.The meeting will be held at Shiv Sena Bhawan in Mumbai at 12 p.m.Such battles are waged either by statute or on the road.Our workers would travel on the roads if required, according to a central minister.Is there any support among Modi Ji and Amit Shah Ji?We are taking steps to disqualify the (rebel) MLAs, he said, as more legislators are due to arrive in Guwahati on Friday, putting the Shiv Sena in jeopardy, and urged party MLA Eknath Shinde to return to Matoshree.They should return to Matoshree, he said.After a party leader joined a rebellion in Maharashtra led by Eknath Shinde who is staying at a Guwahati hotel, the political crisis in the Maharashtra government erupted. On June 23, the rebel MLAs in Guwahati allegedly ordered Mr Shinde to resign from the Maharashtra Legislature, but with the help of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, he also asked rebel MLAs to return to Mumbai and discuss their situation with him.Meanwhile, Shiv Sena's leadership has been questioned by Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.Mr Shinde also emailed the Deputy Speaker of the Maharashtra Assembly for the confirmation of his appointment as the leader of the Shiv Sena Legislature Party, saying that the BJP-led central government is behind the present political turmoil in Maharashtra, where they expect numbers to help their presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu to win the poll on July 18.
