India SKICC Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir) (India): On Monday, Union Minister of State (IC) Ministry of Science and Technology; Ministry of Environment (IC) Ministry of Agriculture; and Minister of State (IC) Ministry of Education; and Minister of Health (IC) Ministry of Finance, Public Grievances and Pensions, Jitendra Singh, announced the Regional Conference on the theme Bringing Citizens and Government Closer-Through Administrative Reforms at SK During the two-day conference, 16 PM Awardees shared their discoveries, describing it as a success story of India's first-ever effort to integrate the District Portal with the National Portal, and claiming that it was also the first UT to publish a District Good Governance Index for 20 Districts of Jammu and Kashmir in January this year.The Index, he said, was a major administrative change in assessing good governance at the district level and a significant step toward timely collection and publication of results at the State District level.Union Minister Nadine Nayak said that governance reforms must be taken to next level and proposed the concept of Aspirational Blocks, which were based on 41 scientifically evolved indices and were meant to bring districts that were lagging behind the best performing districts.Singh said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has placed a higher emphasis on creating the overall growth in Jammu and Kashmir because it is based on very objective assumptions.

During his remarks, he said that it is crucial to improve laws that have become obsolete over time.The urgency lies in keeping up with the modern world.The conference, according to DARPG Secretary V Srinivas, is intended to bring the government and citizens closer together through various strategic changes at the center, state, and district levels.This is being achieved through the use of digital technology, which is committed to maximizing governance and minimum government, which includes governance process re-engineering, universal access to e-services, excellence in digital initiatives at the district level, and excellence in implementing new technologies and using ICT management, according to Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary of J-K.
