BHUBANESWAR (BHUBANESWAR): As part of the commemoration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the higher education department encouraged principals of colleges and registrars of state public universities to participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign on Saturday.The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is being planned as a tribute to the Indian national flag.On the 75th anniversary of Independence Day, the aim of this initiative is to encourage people to hoist the national flag in their homes.According to a ministry of education letter, the target is to fly the national flag by more than 20 crore households around India from August 13 to August 15.Teachers, students, and staff of the schools will be urged to lift the national flag at their homes in the first phase (up to August 10).Students may be encouraged to sell flags in their own neighborhood.In the second phase (August 11-15), colleges will host Prabhat Pheris, which will include students, local youth clubs, and NSS and NCC volunteer teams.During the months of August 13-15, flags will be carried around the household of all students, teachers, and staff. Higher education institutions can conduct quizzes, workshops, and special events to market the initiative and maintain their websites for posting the new information in sync with the Har Ghar Tiranga website.Students, teachers, and staff of the program should keep the badge at home in the third stage (after August 15) and spread the word.Alumni associations of the colleges will also play a significant part in the effort.Starting from August 12 to August 15, Santosh Kumar Tripathy, vice-chancellor of Fakir Mohan University, Balasore, said the university will hold a number of events to foster nationalism among people and pay respect to the national flag.
