Noida, India: Officials said a doctor from a government-run hospital in Greater Noida has been charged by the police for allegedly sexually assaulting a 24-year-old woman lab technician.Officials said a lawsuit was filed against the doctor under Indian Penal Code section 354 (A) for sexual assault involving physical contact or advances that involve unwelcome and explicit sexual interactions.According to a hospital official familiar with the situation, the doctor and the technician reportedly had an altercation in November, triggering a department-level investigation, which led to a settlement, but the hospital has now written to the state government, advising it of the situation and asking permission for discipline action against the doctor, according to the official.
