LUCKNOW: A major train accident was avoided in Jhansi on Friday after the Tirupati-bound Andhra Pradesh Sampark Kranti express coaches decoupled in Jhansi.The disconnection was confirmed around 12:20 p.m. in Chandwani village, which is just a few kilometers from Babina railway station.The express was cruising at 70 kmph at the time of decoupling, but not a single passenger or train crew was wounded.According to railway official reports, a yoke pin that aids in coupling of two coaches broke between the S3-S4 coaches.

The Andhra Pradesh Sampark Kranti express had no immediate trains, according to the PRO department of Jhansi division.After 140 minutes, the train was joined and headed to Bhopal.The PRO department also announced that the train maintenance department in Tirupati would investigate the situation.
